Ameriquest Field Information
Ameriquest Field at Arlington took only 23 months to complete, and is the baseball-only home of the Texas Rangers. This unique complex also includes a baseball museum, a children's learning center, a four-story office building within the ballpark, a youth baseball park, and a 12-acre lake. The total cost of the project was approximately 191 million dollars, and the complex contains approximately 1,400,000 square feet. The outfield fences are 14 feet in left field and 8 feet in center and right fields. The playing surface consists of Bermuda Tifway 419, and the field can drain almost 10 inches of water per hour if need be. The irrigation system allows the outfield to be watered from one spot and can produce 50,000 gallons of water per hour.
One of the favorite features of the ballpark is a manual scoreboard in left field measuring 10 feet by 90 feet that resembles the “Green Monster” of Boston’s Fenway Park. There are 9 separate parking lots at Ameriquest Field at Arlington, each color coded and named after a historic figure of Texas’ history. There are also over 1,200 speakers in the park, located evenly so that no fan is ever more than 75 feet from a speaker.
